According to Business Insider, TikTok is testing a new feature that will allow users to create videos lasting 60 minutes on the video-sharing platform.

However, it’s unclear which regions are now receiving the update, when and if more individuals will be able to get it.

According to reports, TikTok is only now offering the feature in a few areas and has no plans to roll it out extensively.

However, since viewers can now migrate to TikTok in search of shorter video options, this new shift could pose issues for YouTube.

When the app was first released, TikTok had a 15-minute upload limit, although for the previous few years, this has been grown. According to TikTok, company frequently receives requests from creators for more time for content such as humorous sketches, instructional lesson plans, food demonstrations, and beauty instructions. Thus, this is its response to such inquiries.

Tech Weekly journalist Matt Navarra initially noticed the shift, and TikTok subsequently verified it.

Just 33% of US individuals have used TikTok, compared to 80% of Americans who have used YouTube at least once, according to a Pew Research Center study from last year. In the US, YouTube currently has a larger user base than TikTok.

However, the app considerably outpaces YouTube in terms of minutes watched.
