Veg or non-veg? This is more healthy diet

Diet plays a key role in peopleโ€™s well-being, however, sometimes it is difficult to tell the accurate effects of diet on health.

While many people believe that a full vegetarian diet is healthy, it may not be the case.

A recent study examined the effects of food patterns on several aspects of brain health, including mental health, cognitive function, metabolic biomarkers, and brain anatomy as determined by MRI, and it was published in Nature Mental Health Trusted Source.

In their survey of nearly 182,000 participants, researchers discovered that those who ate a balanced diet were probably in better mental health and cognitive performance.

They also observed genetic variations that might have affected the results across various food groups.

As more research in this field is conducted, the study highlights the need of adopting informed dietary decisions to enhance brain function and mental health outcomes.

Memorial Hermann Health System registered dietician Isabel M. Vazquez, who was not part in the most recent study, told Medical News Today: “Dietary habits are known to have a major impact on brain function. Diets high in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean protein, and healthy fats may help maintain cognitive function and lower the risk of cognitive decline, according to research.”This is More Healthy Diet News

“Conversely, diets high in processed foods, saturated fats, and sugars may have negative effects on the brain.”
