Saudi Arabia hosts first-ever swimsuit fashion show

Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman is quickly changing Saudi Arabia’s landscape in an effort to modernize it.

The kingdom has come a long way, from initiating futuristic projects like the Neom project to hosting its first-ever swimsuit fashion show.

On Friday, Saudi Arabia hosted its inaugural swimsuit exhibition, showcasing the creations of Moroccan designer Yasmina Qanzal.

The majority of the one-piece suits in her collection were colored in red, beige, and blue. Qanzal made an effort to highlight the history and culture of the Arab world through the colors and patterns he used.

She stated: “Itโ€™s true that this country is very conservative, but we tried to show elegant swimsuits that represent the Arab world.”

“It is an honor to be involved in such a historic moment,” she continued.

The St. Regis Red Sea Resort, which is located close to Saudi Arabia’s western shore, hosted the event as a part of the first Red Sea Fashion Week.

The resort is a component of MBS’s 2030 Vision, which is centered on the Red Sea Global projects.

The official fashion week of Saudi Arabia, the Riyadh Fashion Week, is scheduled to take place in October 2024 and feature designs that combine modern and traditional elements.
