Will Smith was open about his son Trey’s opinions of his films.

Being one of the biggest fans of the well-known action epic, the Oscar winner believes that his 31-year-old son Trey Smith—who he had with ex Sheree Zampino—was a source of substantial insight into Bad Boys: Ride or Die.

Trey, my oldest son, just adores it,” Will said in an E! News interview. He is the one that enjoys Call of Duty and similar games, therefore a Bad Boys film would be ideal for him. It’s the one his dad is doing, which he enjoys.”

Trey gave Will Smith the courage to film portions of the film, the fourth installment in the series, in first person, something he was afraid to do. Will Smith is grateful for it.

The 55-year-old commented, “It’s interesting that the younger generation enjoys first-person perspective,” in reference to Trey’s passion for video games. “The older generation is like, ‘Mhmm, we’re not sure about that.'”

Will laughed and said, “The kids are gonna love it.” Will is also the father to Jaden Smith, 25, and Willow Smith, 23, who he shares with Jada Pinkett Smith.
