Drake reposts a brutal tweet mocking J Cole on his Finsta account

ย Drake hit Jermaine where it hurts. The rapper, who has faced several setbacks this year, is striking back in an unexpected way.

Rather than dissing his rivals directly, he has decided to release material that undermines them.

One example is footage of Drake essentially creating Kanye West’s “Yikes” from scratch.

Additionally, Drake took the opportunity to repost an old tweet that belittles J Cole.

The relationship between Drake and Cole is currently tenuous at best, and Drake decided to have fun at the expense of his “First Person Shooter” collaborator.

The tweet was reposted on Drake’s new Finsta account, plottttwistttttt.

Originally posted in 2019, it mocks J Cole’s relationship with his former Roc Nation boss, JAY-Z. “Remember when J Cole got his phone stolen out of pocket by a fan,” the user wrote.

“They called JAY-Z from it but he wasn’t answering so they called from their own phone and he picked up.” Brutal.

Drake knew exactly what he was doing by reposting this tweet.

J Cole made it clear from the moment he signed to Roc Nation that he wanted to form a close bond with JAY-Z, seeing himself as another Kanye-esque protรฉgรฉ.

However, things didnโ€™t work out that way. Cole and JAY were never especially close, and Cole found more success on his own.

Drake, on the other hand, has maintained a much closer bond with JAY-Z over the years.

JAY-Z has featured on four of Drake’s albums, while he appeared on only one song for J Cole, despite Cole being signed to his label.

Drake and JAY-Z have had their struggles, but both men clearly respect each other.

Their relationship is much cleaner than either man’s relationship with Kanye West, but that’s another story.

By resharing an old story in which JAY-Z ignored a call, Drake is casting doubt on how much respect Cole truly receives in the industry, especially among the acknowledged greats.

He tried to fight back against Kendrick Lamar, then apologized and became a punchline.

His strange verse on the Cash Cobain song “Grippy” didn’t help.

While Drake took a significant loss from Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” he at least stood his ground.

The Toronto rapper stayed in the ring and earned the respect of icons like Rakim, LL Cool J, and Ice Cube in the process.
