Kamala Harris’ earrings conspiracy debunked after first debate with Donald Trump

With fewer than two months until the election, Donald Trump and Kamala Harris engaged in their first debate on Tuesday at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia.

The debate, which was anchored by ABC’s David Muir and Linsey Davis, generated a lot of online conversation, especially on Harris’ pearl earrings. According to some social media users, she may have utilized the earrings as earbuds to help her throughout the argument.

Even more, a commenter posted a link to Nova H1 earbuds, implying that they looked like Harris’ earrings. The pearl pattern was the only similarity between the two, though, and there is no proof that Harris wore earbuds throughout the discussion.

The earrings were recognized by several viewers as Tiffany Hardwear Pearl Earrings, which Harris has previously worn. The earrings are priced at more than $2,000.

Posts propagating the hoax were also highlighted by Elon Musk’s platform X, which was formerly known as Twitter. Harris was wearing Tiffany earrings, not an earpiece, as stated in a community note that accompanied the flagged posts. The note also included a link to whatkamalawore.com that offered more information about the earrings.

After an earlier incident in which she was filmed wearing wired headphones during a phone call, there has been conjecture regarding Harris wearing earbuds for the second time in a week.
