After fresh accusations, the already existing conflict between ADOR and the director of NewJeans’ popular music videos has gotten worse.
The director of the well-known NewJeans music videos “ETA” and “Ditto,” Shin Woo Seok, has accused ADOR of requesting that all relevant material be taken down from the production company’s YouTube site. The agency, however, has vehemently refuted these allegations and provided a thorough explanation.
Shin Woo Seok vented his frustrations on social media on September 2. He claimed that ADOR requested the removal of all NewJeans-related footage from the Dolphin Kidnapping and Ban Hee Su YouTube channel due to a policy change that occurred at the same time as management changes.
The channel’s director made it clear that it was a non-profit, portfolio repository in the first place. He claimed that rather than being motivated by financial gain, the choice to post directors’ cuts was made out of a desire to give viewers top-notch content.
Further lamenting the apparent termination of future partnerships with NewJeans, Shin Woo Seok stated, “We had promised future projects with the NewJeans members, which we can no longer fulfill.”
I sincerely apologize to the crew for their months of nonstop labor and, most importantly, to the anticipating fans.
ADOR refuted the assertion of a total content removal request in an official statement in response to these accusations.
The agency clarified, “The director’s cut of the ETA music video that Dolphin Kidnapping Group posted on their own SNS channel is an edited version that includes parts that were previously disagreed with by advertisers, and was posted without permission from the advertisers.”
Additionally, ADOR emphasized that the request was restricted to halting the posting of directors’ cuts rather than the removal of previously uploaded video and that their policy on channel operations has not altered.
