Apple has declared one of its most beloved iPhone models “obsolete”, so if the phone gets broken, it will stay that way forever.
This news won’t affect you if you’re the kind of person who upgrades their phone the minute a new iPhone model drops. But if you’re happy to use an older one, then this is bad news for you,ย The Sunย reported
As per Apple’s policy, if an iPhone model is a decade old, the tech company stops making its parts, so if you break that iPhone, then thereโs no replacing or fixing it.
Apple labels their obsolete products as “old tech”, which include Apple Watches, iPads and Macbooks.
According to the statement on Appleโs website, โApple discontinues all hardware service for obsolete products, and service providers cannot order parts for obsolete products.”
A recent addition to this ever-growing list of obsolete models is the popular iPhone 5s, which had record-breaking sales for Apple, and the iPhone 6.
