Apple resolves iMessage, FaceTime issues

On Thursday afternoon, a number of users worldwide reported experiencing various issues with Apple’s FaceTime and iMessage services, according to Business Insider.

The disruption, which reportedly lasted for an hour, has been fixed.

Following a flurry of reports from customers, Apple announced on its System Status dashboard that “users were unable to use iMessage, FaceTime, and HomeKit.”

Even though it is extremely unlikely, here’s what to do if iMessage does stop operating.

You can still use alternative chat apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, X, and Facebook Messenger if iMessage services are unavailable.

If there is only one contact involved in the incident, it could not be a service issue.

Here’s what to do if, after sending a message, you notice a red exclamation point and an alert saying “not delivered”:

Verify the connectivity to your network.
Toggle between “Try Again” and the red exclamation point.
