Body found in Raleigh Food Lion freezer, police believe no foul play involved

Coworkers discovered a deceased employee of a Food Lion grocery store in Raleigh, North Carolina, in the supply freezer of the establishment. The branch on Capital Boulevard, just outside of downtown Raleigh, was the site of the terrible discovery. Local CBS station WNCN reports that the incident happened on Monday, September 11, 2024, at night.

The individual, whose identity has not been disclosed, most likely passed away from natural causes after experiencing a medical emergency at work, according to the authorities. According to the Raleigh Police Department, the death does not appear to have been the result of foul play.

There have been previous instances of sudden employee deaths at work before this one. There have been other incidents like the one in Louisiana in 2023 where an Arby’s manager was discovered dead in a walk-in freezer.

There was no suspicion of foul play in any case.

As of right now, neither Food Lion nor the Raleigh Police Department have commented further. The U.S. Sun has gotten in touch with both to inquire further.
