Recently, as the Carnival Spirit cruise liner was sailing through Alaska’s Tracy Arm Fjord, it ran across a chunk of ice, creating a dramatic moment.
Despite the incident, which happened last Thursday, a detailed inspection revealed that the ship was unharmed, as stated in a statement provided by Carnival Cruise Line to The Post.
The seven-day itinerary of the trip proceeded without any problems, and on Tuesday it is expected to port in Seattle, Washington.
Passengers on board posted a flurry of emotions to the incident on social media. One of the passengers, Cassandra Goskie, recorded the event and posted it to TikTok with the message, “Even if we don’t survive, it was well worth it. This is the Titanic moment.”
The ship is seen striking the ice in the footage, and Goskie can be heard saying, “Oh, we are hitting it.”
Numerous passengers gathered at the side deck to see the spectacle as a result of the incident, which attracted a lot of attention on board.
Another traveler also sent pictures of the scene to a meteorologist, who posted them again on X, the former Twitter.
These photos showed the serene aftermath of the brush as the Spirit passed by the mostly buried ice, followed by a tugboat.
This small mishap occurs only a few days after the Carnival Vista, another Carnival ship, had to reroute its Caribbean cruise due to an engine problem, which infuriated passengers and prompted demands for reimbursement.
Carnival Cruise Line has been under fire after two events in a row, yet the unharmedThe Carnival Spirit’s post-accident condition indicates that safety procedures were followed to the letter.
