Model Crystal McKinney has sued the rapper, alleging that he drugged and sexually assaulted her at his New York City studio in 2003, as per the legal documents obtained by E! News May 21.
McKinney, who has modelled for brands like Tommy Hilfiger and Macy’s, claims in the filing documents that she was invited by an anonymous designer to a Men’s Fashion Week dinner at Cipriani Downtown, where they told her that she’d be introduced to Combs, which will ultimately help her in advancing her career.
The model, who was 22 at the time, claimed in the lawsuit that she was instructed to change her appearance before the event by getting a new outfit and coloring her hair in order to ensure that the founder of Bad Boy Records thought she was attractive.
The 54-year-old is further accused in the lawsuit of making “flirtatious” remarks and promising to assist McKinney “make it big one day” during the dinner.
Later on, he asked her to his studio so he could “get to know her better.”
Additionally, the document states that she was coerced by Combs and a colleague to smoke and consume alcohol at the studio, which resulted in her becoming inebriated and experiencing a “floating” sensation.
It is said that Combs coerced McKinney to accompany him to the restroom, where he “started kissing her without her consent.”
According to the lawsuit, she also claims that she passed out soon after and woke up “in shock,” discovering herself in the back of a cab headed to the designer’s apartment.
By launching a lawsuit, McKinney is now requesting a jury trial, payment of her legal fees and costs, as well as compensatory and punitive damages.
