The well-known social networking site X, formerly known as Twitter, will soon begin concealing users’ like replies to posts, according to tech entrepreneur Elon Musk.
According to Forbes, users will still be able to see how many people liked their post and how many other posts they have liked, even though the number of likes on another user’s post would be concealed.
Musk re-shared a post on X and gave an explanation, saying, “It’s important to allow people to like posts without getting attacked for doing so.”
Haofei Wang, the director of engineering at X, had announced in a post earlier on May 21 that the social networking site would be changing.

“Public likes are incentivizing the wrong behavior,” he stated. Many people are deterred from enjoying potentially “edgy” items out of concern for troll reprisal or to preserve their reputation.”
Enrique Barragan, Senior Software Engineer at X, had also made suggestions about a policy change in late May.
Musk has made several changes to X since taking over, like as renaming the platform and adding a premium subscription that gives customers access to more personalized choices.
