The owner of X, Elon Musk, is probably going to change the social networking site again, and this time he wants to change the “Like” and “Repost” buttons that appear beneath posts.
The software tycoon reportedly intends to reduce the visibility of the amount of likes and reposts on X in order to enhance reading and create a less cluttered user interface.
During his speech at the Morgan Stanley technology, media, and telecom conference, Elon Musk, 52, gave a hint about his next significant redesign of the X interface.
Users will only be able to view the likes and repost numbers when they tap or click on a post.
This modification fits into Musk’s larger plan to improve the X user experience, which he has been improving since the platform’s acquisition in October 2022.
Both X users and industry analysts have expressed differing opinions about the proposed revisions.
Some fear that removing the useful feedback mechanisms that these measurements offer could result in a less pressured and more genuine climate for content exchange.
In order to improve aesthetic appeal, Musk removed article headlines from links shared on the platform last year. However, in response to user outcry, this change was partially undone, with article titles now appearing inside the URL card images.
The precise timetable for these modifications is still unknown, though.
