Disney reportedly showed little interest in Elton John as a result of his exclusion from the upcoming prequel Musafa: The Lion King.
“After gifting the studio with such timeless classics as Can You Feel the Love Tonight and Circle of Life, Elton has been blindsided by this egregious snub,” a source revealed to the National Enquirer.
It is a terrible taste to have his legacy treated in this way. He is offended and demoralized by Disney’s behavior! disclosed an insider.
According to the publication, it’s still unclear why Elton wasn’t featured in the prequel adaption, which will be released in theaters in December 2024.
The upcoming adaption, which is helmed by Barry Jenkins, will showcase the cherished children’s movie characters in lifelike animations.
Remarkably, in November 2023, Elton John delivered Disney+ its very first livestream performance, Elton John Live: Farewell From Dodger Stadium.
The show, which was streamed worldwide and received three nominations for the 2024 Emmy Awards, was executive produced by Elton.
To those who may not be familiar, Elton starred in The Lion King in 1994, which earned him nominations for three Academy Awards: Hakuna Matata, Circle of Life, and Can You Feel the Love Tonight (which won).
RadarOnline revealed that David Furnish, the husband of music composer David Furnish, wanted singer to support his career as a movie producer now that Elton’s farewell tour had concluded.
