As the Royal Family observed the second anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s passing today, King Charles was present at a service held in Crathie Kirk, which is close to Balmoral.
A heartfelt homage to X was posted on the monarchy’s official social media account. It included a picture of the late Queen, beaming during a summer garden party at Buckingham Palace in 2019 and wearing a pink hat and ensemble.
“Remembering Queen Elizabeth II, 1926–2022,” the post said.
Under the late summer sun, King Charles and Queen Camilla were spotted making their way to the little granite church on Royal Deeside for the Sunday morning service.
Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer paid tribute to the late Queen, highlighting the “70 glorious years of her reign” among the many tributes that was received.
“The late Queen’s dedication to the UK and Commonwealth taught us that whatever challenges our country faces, the value of service always endures,” stated Sir Keir in a message shared on social media. She served as the focal point of this country’s life for the 70 magnificent years of her reign. We pay tribute to her memory today.
“Today we commemorate the life of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and mark the second anniversary of His Majesty King Charles III’s accession,” stated Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury. We praise Queen Elizabeth for her life of faith and devotion as we pray for the Royal Family today, and we will keep praying for The King in his unwavering service to our country.
Social media was used by royal followers to show their respect. One person said, “Life well lived and legacy unmatched,” and another said, “Your Majesty, we miss you and are grateful for all the years of service and devotion you have given to our nation.”
