Due to injury, MLS and Inter Miami have announced that Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez will miss tomorrow’s scheduled MLS match.
Messi and Suarez were left off the roster for the next MLS game in Columbus, Ohio, against the Mexican Liga MX All-Star.Messi is still recovering from a knock that forced him to miss two Major League Soccer matches last week because of a right ankle ailment he sustained during Colombia’s Copa America final.
The team also announced that Suarez, who just recently resumed practice after more than 40 days with the national team, will be missing the All-Star game owing to a knee condition, and Messi will be unable to go due to an ankle problem.
Messi signed with Inter Miami in July of last year, so this was supposed to be his first MLS All-Star Game. Miami won the most recent Leagues Cup, an event for MLS and Mexican league teams, last year behind a record eight-time Ballon d’Or winner who played in the World Cup against the Argentine international.Miami also mentioned that Messi and Suarez are listed as questionable for their League Cup title-retention campaign’s opening home game on Saturday against Puebla of Mexico. The team stated that the recuperation process on that particular day will determine whether or not these players are available for the game.
