Julia Fox said that she has been celibate for more than two years, being open about her love life.
On May 11, a TikTok user replied to a dating app billboard that said, “A vow of celibacy is not the answer.” That’s when it all began.
“Imagine pretending to be a Dating App FOR WOMEN and launching a million-dollar ad campaign BLAMING WOMEN for a very normal reaction to men’s violence,” the video poster says over an image of the billboard.
On May 12, 34-year-old Julia expressed her support for the TikTok user by writing, “2.5 years of celibacy and never been better tbh.”
The Uncut Gems actress previously made a strong statement in April when in Los Angeles about her celibacy lifestyle while wearing a see-through outfit.
She was dressed in a graphic bikini set, the bottoms of which were zippered shut and featured the word “closed” inscribed over a realistic image of a female body.
Following a month-long courtship in 2022, Julia disclosed to The New York Times in September 2023 that she and the 46-year-old Kanye West had not had any close physical encounters.
She said, “It wasn’t really about that.”
The Puppet actress also expressed her viewpoint in November 2022 when she appeared on Emily Ratajkowski’s podcast, High Low with EmRata.
The memoirist discussed her views on s-x, saying that her time growing up as a dominatrix made her view the act as purely transactional. According to the actress, having sex “doesn’t see the point” because it’s always “one-sided.”
The game became, “Okay, how do I become more desirable so I could get more money and I could be like that b—h,” she said. “I pretty much learned in my teens that I was a commodity and that I can get money or resources from men,” she added.
“I still have the power because of them.” You know, it’s not my own strength. Therefore, it’s a dehumanizing or rather humbling kind of position to be in.
