With a solo project, her own management business, and her acting debut in HBO’s The White Lotus, Lisa of Blackpink is soaring to new heights in her career. The K-pop singer talked about her most recent endeavors and her path to more creative liberty in an exclusive conversation with Elle.
Lisa’s first significant solo project in three years is her upcoming single “Rockstar,” which will be released under RCA Records and her recently established management firm, Lloud Co. This release, in contrast to her earlier works under YG Entertainment, showcases her increased autonomy over her creative direction. Lisa told Elle, “I think what I’ve learned from last time is me, myself, saying what I like and what I don’t like,” highlighting the significance of expressing her tastes in art.
Together with her songs, Lisa will appear in the eagerly awaited new season of The White Lotus, which is set in her native Thailand. When asked about her reaction to getting the role, Lisa said, “I think I cried,” during the interview. “Iโm super excited and nervous, because itโs my first acting project.”
