Recently, Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, introduced a new feature for WhatsApp that functions similarly to a fast dial and is intended to assist users in managing their messages more effectively.
Within the instant messaging program, users will be able to prioritize key chats, groups, and calls with the new “favourite” filter feature, according to WABetaInfo.
The 40-year-old tech mogul made the announcement through his official WhatsApp account, following the release of new business capabilities driven by AI and Meta Verified for WhatsApp.
From the chats tab, users can now easily find and select the most significant group chats and conversations using this new functionality.
Additionally, a new filter will be added to the calls page, enabling users to quickly access their favorite contacts and streamlining the process of placing calls just a tap away.
How does WhatsApp’s new filter work?
There are multiple methods that allow users to mark chats and groups as favourites,ย WABetaInfoย reported.
- Users may add chats and groups to their favourites by accessing the “Favorites” tab within the chats list.
- They can designate specific contacts and groups as favourites directly from the chat info or the calls tab.
- Users can also manage favourites within the app settings, where they can easily add, organise, and remove them.
The feature is available for both Android and iOS users.
