New Miss USA crowned after previous winner resigns over ‘extreme mental pressure’

According to The National News, the previous beauty queen quit due to abuse and harassment, and a new Miss USA has been crowned.

The Miss Universe Organization has had a highly turbulent past ten days due to the quick resignations of three of its pageant winners.

Miss Teen USA 2023 UmaSofia Srivastava resigned first, then Miss USA 2023 Noelia Voigt, and finally Miss Colorado Arianna Lemus also chose to renounce her title.

The Miss Universe Organization came under increased scrutiny and criticism for abuse and severe mental pressure following the abrupt resignation.

On Wednesday, Hawaii’s Savannah Gankiewicz, 28, was crowned the next Miss USA 2023. She won the title till August after finishing as the pageant’s first runner-up in September of last year.

Voigt posted a resignation announcement on social media, stating that her “personal values no longer fully align with the direction of the organisation”.

Laylah Rose, the head of the pageant, was also accused by her of “slandering her character”.

Fans quickly picked up on a secret message inside the lengthy post she wrote. “I am silenced” was written in the initial letter of each of the post’s first eleven sentences.
