Oprah Winfrey’s private letter to Donald Trump resurfaces following Kamala Harris endorsement at DNC

After Oprah Winfrey endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris at the Democratic National Convention, followers of Donald Trump trotted her.

In an unexpected appearance in Chicago, Winfrey emphasized “decency and respect” as important virtues while pleading for voters to choose Harris in the 2024 election. “Select the sweet promise of tomorrow over the bitter return to yesterday,” she urged Americans to do.

In response, an old handwritten letter Winfrey wrote to Trump in 2000 expressing her appreciation for him following her reading of an extract from his book “The America We Deserve” was rediscovered by the Trump campaign’s “War Room” X account. “Too bad we’re not running for office,” Winfrey wrote in a letter. What A Group!” Supporters of Trump compared Winfrey’s current criticism of Trump with her previous endorsement in this letter.

The last sentence of the letter, which hinted that Winfrey had once desired to be Trump’s running mate, was brought to attention by investigative journalist Laura Loomer.

Trump fans also shared old photos of Winfrey with Harvey Weinstein, referring to her relationship with the disgraced film tycoon and calling her “Hollywood’s favorite Madame.”

These acts, which emphasized Oprah Winfrey’s prior support for Donald Trump, were perceived as an attempt to discredit the actress’s backing of Harris.
