Amidst the ongoing cancer fight of his father, King Charles, Prince Harry made an impassioned remark.
When the Duke of Sussex visited Johannesburg, South Africa, by himself, he had a unique request for the world leaders.
Harry, who recently traveled as a representative of the HIV charity Sentebale, emphasized the need of hearing from young people as a way to “close the digital divide.”
Harry stated, “I’ve made it one of my life’s missions to create a platform for young voices, and we have seen time and time again that young voices when they are listened to, have the solutions,” during a panel discussion with stakeholders, corporate leaders, and strategic partners at Johannesburg.
He said, “Universal access is important, but can we please make it safer for people, especially the Global South, so we don’t have the same problems as in the Global North.”
“Access is a double-edged sword; and for us as a society and people in positions of power and authority, I see no excuse for why we can’t change this double-edged sword into something that is beneficial to the entire world,” the former royal worker continued.
It’s crucial to remember that Harry’s sincere request coincided with the monarch’s health issues.
For those who do not know, the devastating news of King Charles’s disease was revealed by Buckingham Palace in February 2024, shocking the entire world. The King of England has been receiving treatment ever since for an unidentified type of cancer.
