After an incident, police in Quaidabad, Karachi, have detained a suspect in the fatal shooting of his 20-year-old companion.
Tuesday’s raid at Sherpao Colony Cemetery resulted in the arrest; police also found ammunition and the murder weapon, a handgun.
The suspect, Bilal alias Mian, is accused by the police of shooting and killing his friend Zakaria on August 10, 2024, at a get-together at a home in Landhi’s Sherpao Colony’s Swati Mohalla neighborhood.
The two got into a furious dispute before the incident.
Bilal left the scene as soon as the gunshots stopped.
Police discovered a 30-bore handgun round at the scene, and preliminary examinations showed that the shooting occurred in an empty house that the victim and the suspect used as a meeting place.
Four or five more buddies were there at the time of the occurrence. Zakaria is said to have died after Bilal shot him in the head during the scuffle.
Following the incident, observers saw multiple people leaving the area.
Zakaria, the victim, lived at Sherpao Colony, Landhi, in the same area.
A murder case (number 480/24) was filed by the Quaidabad Police under sections 302/34 of the Pakistan Penal Code against Bilal, also known as Mian, and other unnamed persons.
The specifics state that last Saturday, in home number B115 in Gulistan-e-Johar Block 3A, two brothers, Muhammad Asif and Muhammad Asim, suffered injuries, and two men, Abdus Salam son of Muhammad Saleem, aged 25, and Muhammad Nasir son of Muhammad Ashraf, aged 27, died.
In response to Muhammad Asif’s injury, the police filed a charge sheet No. 24/652 against the unidentified armed accused in accordance with sections 302 and 324.
