T20 World Cup 2024: Has PCB finalised Pakistan squad?

KARACHI: According to reports cited by Geo News on Friday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has finalized the Green Shirts’ squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup, which is scheduled to take place in June.

According to the sources, captain Babar Azam would captain the 15-member team that consists of two batters, four all-rounders, three wicket keepers, five fast bowlers, and a spinner.

According to the reports, Haris Rauf, the pacer, is also included in the team while he heals from his injury. Irfan Khan, Salman Ali Agha, and Hasan Ali will travel with the team as reserves in the interim.

Bara Azam (c), Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Rizwan, Usman Khan, Azam Khan, Imad Wasim, Shadab Khan, Saim Ayub, Iftikhar Ahmed, Abrar Ahmed, Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Amir, Naseem Shah, Abbas Afridi, and Haris Rauf are probably Pakistan’s T20 World Cup roster.

Irfan Khan, Hasan Ali, and Salman Ali Agha are the reserves.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has set May 25 as the deadline for declaring a 15-member World Cup squad. As a result, the PCB will formally reveal the roster following the opening T20I series match against England on May 22.

Pakistan is in Group A of the World Cup with bitter rivals Ireland, Canada, the USA, and India.

On June 6, the national team will take on the USA in Dallas in their opening World Cup match. However, the highly anticipated titanic match between India and Pakistan is scheduled for Sunday, June 9, in New York.

Group B: Oman, Namibia, Scotland, Australia, and England

Group C: Afghanistan, Uganda, Papua New Guinea, West Indies, and New Zealand

Group D: Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, South Africa, and the Netherlands
