In the 27th T20 World Cup match, Bangladesh has set a target of 130 runs against the Netherlands at Arnos Vale Ground in Kingstown.
Bangladesh was asked to bat first, but they didn’t get off to a good start. In the first four overs, they lost two wickets, and Liton Das and captain Najmul Hossain Shanto left the field without adding more than ten runs.
But Shakib Al Hasan and Tanzid Hasan forged a 48-run partnership that was vital for Bangladesh because it provided them with much-needed consistency. Before Paul van Meekeren got the better of him, Tanzid scored 35 off 26 with six boundaries in a fast-paced innings.
Mahmudullah (25 off 21) provided Shakib with strong support down the order when he remained on the field. In the allotted overs, Bangladesh finished their innings at 159-5 thanks to a rapid seven-ball, 14-run cameo from Jaker Ali.
Shakib led the Tigers in scoring with 62 runs off of 45 balls. Aryan Dutt and Van Meekeren each took two wickets for the Netherlands, but Tim Pringle only took one.In their previous T20 World Cup match, the Netherlands defeated Nepal while Bangladesh triumphed over Sri Lanka.
