On Sunday, former president Donald Trump posted AI-generated pictures on Truth Social, implying that supporters of Taylor Swift are endorsing his candidacy. Additionally, he made accusations that Vice President Kamala Harris is a communist in posts he uploaded.
While Swift hasn’t officially backed a politician yet, she did back President Joe Biden in 2020. Swift’s Instagram account posted a picture earlier this month that raised questions about whether or not the star may support Harris. However, Swift’s backup dancer was visible in the picture, which was later confirmed.
Swift’s supporters created the “Swifties for Kamala” group, which has amassed a sizable Instagram and X following in short order. Within a day of its announcement, the group stated that over 5,000 people had signed up for its August 27 Zoom inaugural call. Swift attacked Trump in 2019 and implied that he saw the United States as an autocracy as opposed to a democracy.
