During an interview, former Indian captain Virat Kohli revealed his hope to visit Pakistan “soon” with Pakistani mountaineer Shehroze Kashif.
Using his Instagram account, Kashif posted a video of himself interacting with Kohli, one of the best batsman of this century.
The cricketer’s voice is clear in the video, but his face is hidden because it was taken from the phone’s back.
The prominent Indian hitter can be heard saying, “My regards to your family and all of your friends,” in the little video. Everyone has started traveling to Pakistan, so hopefully we can go there soon.”
The mountaineer claimed that the video was taken in 2022 after he met and was lauded for his work in Nepal by an Indian national who was unknown to him at the time.
The mountaineer “jokingly expressed” his desire to speak with Virat Kohli after the Indian man informed Kashif that he knew the Indian national team.
He surprised me by messaging Kohli on my behalf, and we were able to speak over a video conversation. He stated in the caption of the video, “As a Pakistani, I humbly acknowledge Kohli as the greatest batsman of this era.”
To avoid getting into problems for “political reasons,” Kashif refrained from disclosing the identity of the individual who organized this virtual conference.
The right-handed batsman has been India’s top player for the last ten years. In an ODI match against Sri Lanka at Dambulla in 2008, Kohli made his debut. He has since participated in 292 ODIs, 117 T20 matches, and 113 Test matches. In all, he has amassed 26 733 international runs across all formats and hit 80 centuries.
With 661 runs in 13 innings at a 66.10 run rate, the 35-year-old is currently the best run-scorer in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) after an outstanding performance.
The ICC T20 World Cup is scheduled to take place in the United States and the West Indies next month, and Kohli will be a member of his side.
India’s World Cup campaign will begin on June 5 against Ireland at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. On June 9, the much-awaited matchup with Pakistan will also take place at the same location.
