According to many media reports, the American tech giant Microsoft is scheduled to host an event on Monday, May 20, where it is anticipated that new product announcements, enhancements to current services, and the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies would be made.
According to a Sunday Express UK story, Microsoft is planning a significant update that will encourage Windows 10 customers to switch to Windows 11, as many are still using the older version of the operating system.
It is also expected that the Redmond-based company will make announcements on the next Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6 variants during the event. It is anticipated that the business will switch from using AMD and Intel chips in its Surface products to Snapdragon X Elite chipsets in these new computers.
When these devices were first released, they were only available to businesses and came with AMD and Intel systems.
Microsoft intends to have an advantage over Apple with its Snapdragon chips, which are reportedly far more powerful than Apple’s MacBook with an M3 CPU, as the competition in the global computer market heats up.
2024 was declared “the year of the AI PC” by the Bill Gates-founded corporation, thus the AI features are also up for discussion. Thus, it makes sense that a number of potent AI-powered technologies will be included.
According to a note reported by The Verge: “Itโs clear Microsoft has grown tired of Intelโs failed attempts at a comeback, so itโs going all-in on these latest Qualcomm chips โ and bringing its closest PC partners along for the ride.”
