Yousafzai also highlighted the devastating situation in the Gaza Strip especially after Israel’s horrific massacre against Palestinians in Rafah during her recent interview with Vogue. She said: “This is such a difficult time right now, especially because of what’s happening in Gaza, and especially this week, what we saw in Rafah. It is heartbreaking and terrifying to have witnessed these moments. People are so angry and can’t believe this could happen right in front of our eyes.” The Nobel laureate reiterated that when she thinks about what Palestinians in Gaza are going through, she cannot even imagine the atrocities and the pain. Moreover, she announced a new scholarship initiative for Palestinian students at the University of Oxford this week along with emphasising on the Malala Fund’s ongoing commitment to Palestine. This includes $300,000 which her organisation has already dedicated for Palestinian-led aid collectives and humanitarian efforts. Israel’s mass genocidal attacks have killed more than 37,181 Palestinians along with injuring 88,309 others since October 7, as per the Palestinian health ministry.
